Introduction

Taking care of your garments increases their lifespan and helps reduce their environmental impact. We will help you with this as much as we can with both care advice and repair service.

If your garment breaks, we will help you repair it. If a component in your garment breaks before the garment is worn out, we will repair it for you free of charge. If you damage your garment, we will repair it for a reasonable cost. Our official repair partner, Petratex, is also the producer of our garments and knows them well.

3-layer garments

Routine care and maintenance will optimize the performance of your Dermizax garment.

HOW TO WASH?

● Close the main and ventilation zippers.
● Open pocket zippers.
● Release tension on all elastic drawcords.
● Loosen and secure the Velcro® cuff.
● It is recommended to use a small amount of liquid cleaning agent. Do not use powder detergent, fabric softener or bleach.
● Wash on medium heat (40°C/104°F) at regular cycle setting. Use gentle cycle without rigorous spin cycles to prevent garment from being creased or damaged.
● To remove any excess residual detergent, use a second rinse cycle to avoid compromising DWR and garment performance.

HOW TO RE-APPLY DWR WHEN NECESSARY?

Over time the DWR will wear off and if your garment is no longer beading water, it is recommended to re-apply DWR. Washing and re-applying DWR, when necessary, will restore the performance and extend the lifespan of your garment.

A spray-on DWR treatment will offer superior performance and the ability to target high-wear areas.

● Remove your garment from the machine and shake off any excess water.
● Close all zippers.
● Hang the garment and spray DWR on the face fabric – concentrating on the high-wear areas.
● Turn the garment inside out for maximum uptake by the face fabric before placing it in the dryer.

HOW TO DRY?

● Place your damp garment in the dryer on medium heat for 40 to 50 minutes (or until dry to the touch) to effectively activate DWR.

Down

Down relies on air between its clusters to retain warmth. When the face fabric of your garment becomes dirty, body oils and dirt attract water which can then transfer into the down, causing it to clump. Without the pockets of air between the down clusters, the garment loses its insulation properties.

To maintain performance, wash your garment when it shows signs of dirt or sweat, or when the down is starting to lose loft or clump. It is best to use a cleaning agent made specifically for technical down products.

HOW TO WASH?

● Use a front-loading machine only!
● Close the main and pit zippers.
● Open pocket zippers.
● Wash on medium heat (40°C/104°F) at permanent press or gentle cycle settings.
● To remove any excess residual detergent, use a second rinse cycle to avoid compromising DWR and garment performance.
● Using a double rinse is recommended.

HOW TO RE-APPLY DWR WHEN NECESSARY?

● If the face fabric of your garment no longer beads water, even after it has been washed and dried, it is time to re-apply DWR.
● Remove your garment from the machine and shake off excess water.
● Close all zippers.
● Hang it and spray DWR on the face fabric, concentrating on high-wear areas.

HOW TO DRY?

● Turn your garment inside out.
● Remove excess moisture by gently pressing on it with a clean towel.
● Place your garment in the dryer on low heat with a couple of dryer balls or clean tennis balls. This will get back its loft and prevent the down from clumping. To make sure it dries properly, regularly turn your garment inside out throughout the cycle.
● Make sure the down has been completely dried, not just the shell fabric, to avoid clumping or mold. This might take a couple of hours.
