Photographer Rami Hanna and stylist Julian Hernandez have created a home that is a mix of everything and effortlessly combines simplicity with their experience within the fashion world. Their space is a testament to thoughtful design, where every piece reflects a shared passion for art, history, and contemporary aesthetics. 

What does your home mean to you?

Our home is our sanctuary—a place where we recharge and create memories with our dog and friends. It’s also a symbol of all the hard work we’ve put in over the years. When we were younger, owning our own place and investing in beautiful furniture was a goal, and now we’re living the life we once dreamed of.

How long have you lived in your home, and why did you choose to move there?

We’ve been living in our home for exactly three years now. Before that, we lived in a smaller apartment nearby, but we felt like we were outgrowing the space and needed something bigger. Since we both work in fashion, it was essential for us to find an apartment with plenty of storage and a better layout.

How would you describe your interior design philosophy?

A mix of everything. We love combining modern design furniture with carefully selected vintage finds, creating a harmonious balance between the new and the old, which gives the room a timeless and personal character.

How do you choose products for your home, in terms of aesthetics and functionality?

We aim to find a balance between aesthetics and functionality. Every product we choose must be practical and complement our overall design theme. We prefer clean lines and natural materials, but functionality is always a key factor. At the same time, we enjoy incorporating unique pieces with character that catch the eye without being overwhelming.

What are your favourite materials in the home and why?

We love wood for its warmth and timelessness, while also appreciating the contrast and edginess that steel elements bring, creating a harmonious blend of the natural and the industrial. Quality is about durability and feel. A product should not only last long but also retain its aesthetic appeal over time. It’s crucial that it is well-made with solid and robust materials.

What is your favourite room and why?

The living room is our favourite room because it’s where we spend most of our time. It’s the heart of the home, a place to relax, read, watch movies, or have friends over. We’ve created a space that’s both relaxing and socially inviting.

What does a typical evening at home look like?

A typical evening is quite calm. Rami loves cooking, so we often enjoy home-cooked meals, and then we always end the evening cuddling with our dog Mercy on the sofa while watching a favourite TV show.

What inspires you in your work, your home, and your life?

Rami: I draw a lot of inspiration from people, architecture, and music. Conversations, street watching, and people who go their own way give me both ideas and drive in my work and life. At home, I’m inspired by vintage elements and my favourite architects. For me, the home is about creating a sense of warmth combined with a touch of design.

Julian: I’m inspired by different artists and people I look up to. When it comes to our home, I get a lot of inspiration from our travels. I love incorporating details from various places around the world.
