THE CHARACTERISTICS OF A HIGH QUALITY SOCK
So, what to look for? The length of the fibres in the processed yarn is important for high quality, that’s why we use organic and egyptian cotton. Socks undergo much greater stress in the heel and toe area than in the rest of the sock, all our socks come with reinforced heel and toe. Only high-quality colors do not bleed and can survive the daily strains. For maximum quality, our products hold Oeko-Tex 100 certification, meaning that they are colored with dyes that are completely skin-friendly. Socks can be really fun to explore. That’s why we offer over ten variations of this often forgotten clothing detail.

ONE SOCK TO RULE THEM ALL ... OR?
Yes. And no. For some people the one-model-one-material-all-occasions-sock is just enough. If you prefer that, please keep on rockin that ultimate sock of yours. But, if you want to customize your socks according to occasion, season and shoe type there are many choices to be made. How you wear them, and when depends on the shape, material and colour. Length? Below ankle for sneakers, calf for everyday and knee-high for dressed occasions are just some guidelines. Do you prefer rib or plain? What colour? You can go white for sporty, black for classic or just be grey. Material: merino or cashmere for heat, cotton for everyday life and a blend of wool, silk and/or cashmere for luxury. And that’s just the beginning.
different materials and qualities
For our range of socks we work with a number of materials and combinations: Organic cotton is cool and lightweight, it’s softer and more comfortable than regular treated cotton. It’s grown with no harmful fertilizers and pesticides and perfect for everyday use. Egyptian Cotton is considered to be one of the highest cotton qualities you can get. Cashmere is incredibly soft to the touch, highly insulating and breathable, and when combined with silk you get the best of both worlds: coziness and exclusivity. Merino wool is breathable and still with a warming effect. Wool is warming without absorbing moisture, and combined with silk you get a neat sock but still with that firm, comfortable grip around the foot. Tencel comes from wood pulp that undergoes a process where it’s dissolved in a nontoxic organic solvent before being turned into a fabric that has fantastic recovery abilities and colours that keep their sharpness. Trial and error is the only way to find your favourite.

Take care of your socks and make them last
When washing, always use cold water which is more gentle. So go for a maximum of 30 degrees to extend the lifespan of your socks made from all sorts of cotton. Wools, including cashmere and merino are prone to felting and shrinking when washed, so treat them with care. Use ”Delicate wool & cashmere detergents”, a garment bag and your washing machines wool program on a maximum of 30 degrees. No centrifuge or tumble drying. Lay the socks on a bath towel on a flat surface and let them dry. Another reason to use a garment bag is to avoid pilling. Pills form when short fibers in a material come loose, get tangled, and form tiny balls of yarn at the end of the fiber. The number one cause of pilling is excessive rubbing against other surfaces, and nowhere does this occur more than in the washer and dryer.
